Marilyn E. Zednik, 88, of Brook Park, peacefully passed away on September 5, 2018.
She was born in Cleveland, the daughter of the late H. Dayton and Elva Mae Tobey. Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late John “Al” Zednik; loving mother of Lynn (Kurt) Butler, Nancy (Dan) Ashcraft (deceased), Janis (Dennis) Graham, Donald Zednik and Lori (Doug) Bennett; cherished grandmother of 14, great-grandmother of 22 and great-great grandmother of four; dear sister of Phyllis (Ray, deceased) Carr (deceased) and Patricia (Walter, deceased) Kurtz and sister-in-law of Margaret “Peggy” (Forrest “Tom”, deceased) Thomas and adored aunt of many.
Marilyn has been an active member of the Brook Park Community Church of the Brethren since 1959, volunteering for the Food Pantry. She was a member of the Tuesday Brook Park Seniors Club at the Rec Center and was previously a volunteer at Southwest General Hospital for 25 years. She retired from the Berea City School System following 20 years of service in the cafeterias. A talented seamstress, she made clothing for both her children and her daughter’s dolls which will be passed down for generations. She cherished her family and they will treasure their memories with her forever.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 10AM -12PM in the Sunset Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, where funeral services will commence on Tuesday at 12PM. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brook Park Community Church of the Brethren, 16845 Holland Rd., Brook Park 44142.
