Robert G. Josefus, age 93, of Parma Hts., passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 22, 2018.
Born March 4, 1925 in Cleveland, to the late John and Marie Josefus. Robert grew up on Harvard Avenue and attended South High School. He was drafted into the Navy June 12, 1943 and was a part of the Seabees working for the Virginia Construction Battalion. He served over a year in the Aleutian Islands, (Adak) where he built landing strips. He always told the story of President Roosevelt driving past and waving at him while he was saluting. He went to Okinawa and was a guard for delivery vehicles. He was discharged from the Navy February 14, 1946. When he came home, he worked as a bricklayer for 5 years before he started at Republic Steel where he worked in metallurgy on the Hot Roll side monitoring the temperature and strength. He was a turn foreman and then a general foreman. After he retired, he worked for The Sun Newspaper for several years.

Josefus; devoted step father of the late Frank (Rose Ann) Sebesta; beloved grandfather of Gail (Matt) Burns, Sue (Dale) Scheidler, and Amy (Russ) Rennecker; loving great grandfather of Ben and Katie Burns, Gabrielle and Andrew Scheidler, and Madelyn and Drake Rennecker; caring uncle of Gail (George) Polinsky; adored brother of the late Georgina, the late John Jr., and the late Richard (Dorothy); dearest friend of Tony and Debbie Pupo and Bob (the Cop) and Peggy Moczulski.
Graveside service will take place in Sunset Memorial Park at 1PM Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Please meet at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070 at 12:45PM.
