Joseph C. Pekar Sr.

Death Date: September 5, 2018

Joseph Charles Pekar Sr., 67, of Cleveland, formerly of North Olmsted, passed away Sept. 5th.  Dear son of the late Joseph S. and Elizabeth (nee Schill) Pekar. Loving father of Joseph C. Jr. (Mandy), Michael (Elizabeth) and James (Lee); Cherished grandfather of Mirabella, Kornelia, Laszlo, Mia, Leah, Audriana; dear brother of Carolyn (Thomas) Simmonds, Eileen (Timothy) Doyle and Jack (Debbie); adored uncle of many.

Joe had been currently employed at Drum Parts Midwest for 47 years.  Among his hobbies was flying his 120cc aerobic planes at both Grafton and Warren fields and was a member of the Cleveland Radio Control Club.  He loved music and dancing and frequented the Rockside Holiday Inn.  Joe was a kind, gentle, and creative man and will be remembered for his ability to fix almost anything and his willingness to help anyone in need.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 4PM-8PM at the Sunset Chapel in Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted.  Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10AM at the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Rd.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

    I was out of town but so sad to hear of Joe’s passing when I returned. I met him at the Holiday Inn and just started dancing and talking to him in the past year or so…….we had talked about holistic health a couple of times. He was such a “gentle” man and so kind. He will be deeply missed! My thoughts and prayers to his family!

    My condolences to the family I am so sorry to hear about Joe he was such a great friend and we danced a lot and to Holiday Inn he love to dance fun places with him had fun enjoy his company he was a good friend he will be very missed. I know joe for 2yrs he was such a good friend and really enjoy are hoilday Inn on Saturday nights.
    And other places we went. Rest in peace

  6. I just heard the terrible news of Joe’s passing. I am sick. Joe was the kindest and sweetest man that I have ever known. He was the BEST dancer that I have ever stepped on the dance floor with!! Joe was and will continue to be loved by all. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest in peace my dear friend, I know that you are still dancing!!!!!
