J. Sally Wellington

J. Sally Wellington (nee Shattuck), 81, of Olmsted Falls, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018.

She was born in Nashua, NH and raised in Peperell, MA, the loving daughter of the late Forrest and Marion (nee Osborne) Shattuck.   She met Howard W. Wellington at a carnival in her hometown and they have shared 62 memorable years together.  They moved to Olmsted Falls in 1960 and made it their home.   They joined the Olmsted Falls Community Church in 1965 and remained active with the Church through volunteer work and assisting with the bulletins.  Sally also joined the Olmsted Falls Grange shortly after moving here. Sally also volunteered for many years at Church Street Ministries under the direction of Frannie Millward.   Sally and Howard created many memories celebrating their anniversary by traveling to a new state for each one, seeing all 50 states together.

Sally is the beloved wife of Howard; dear sister of Elaine (Robert) Kirkpatrick of Fairfax, VT and the late Patricia (William) Sloat and Barbara (Leland) Gray; sister-in-law of the late Roger Wellington, Virginia (Leon) Tyner, David (Gary) Wellington and Paul Wellington; adored aunt of 20 and dear friend of many.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 4PM-8PM in the Sunset Chapel and Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted.  Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11AM at the Olmsted Falls Community Church, 7853 Main St., Olmsted Falls 44138.  Interment to follow at Chestnut Grove Turkey Foot Cemetery in Olmsted Falls.

    Sally a true ANGEL…will be missed,,, her smiling face with great laughter,,always willing to help anyone out,,,She was Howard’s co-pilot in many adventures and always together with their matching T-shirts… The two of them would cruise together pass my home nightly a routine I will miss seeing,,, She was a great friend I will miss her…
