Hildegard Herrmann (nee Siebach), 94, of Olmsted Twp., passed away April 4, 2017.
Loving mother of Edelgard (Donald) Bees, Henry Herrmann (deceased), Annegret Montgomery and Eric (Mary) Herrmann; cherished grandmother of Donald (Shana) Bees, Kristine (Robb) Schulze, Andrea (Kris) Lemmon, Kimberly Herrmann, Robert and Peter Montgomery and Eric M., Brian, Michael, Kathleen and Kelly Herrmann and great-grandmother of Allen and Aiden Bees, Lexie and Lauren Schulze and Jenson Lemmon. Hilde was born and raised in Berlin, Germany and emigrated to the United States in November 1956 with her children Edelgard and Henry. As a young girl at age 13, Hilde participated in the Opening Ceremony of the 1936 Olympics held in Berlin, a fond memory. She survived the World War II bombings of Berlin that devastated the city.
Hilde was accomplished in school and in business and managed her own store that specialized in hosiery. Later in the United States, she worked in the grocery business and was known for her friendly smile to customers and co-workers alike.
Hilde loved to read and write. She loved gardening, flowers, and animals. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cleveland and participated in the “Ladies Aid” and church functions.
Most especially, Hilde will be remembered and missed as a loving mother and “Oma” to her children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gone from this life, but not forgotten. Until we meet again in heaven – In Christ.
Graveside service Friday, April 7, 2017 at 2PM at Sunset Memorial Park (meet at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted at 1:45PM for procession). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2928 Scranton Rd., Cleveland 44113
