Protection, Dignity, Honor
Sunset's Westwood Abbey Chapel and Mausoleum exemplifies the finest
in mausoleum tradition. Once available only to the privileged of wealth and
position, today's community mausoleums offer the benefits and prestige of above
ground entombment to all.

Throughout the centuries above ground entombment has remained the finest in
memorialization. The great pyramids of Egypt are an unequaled legacy of an
ancient civilization. The Taj Mahal in India was built by the Shaw in 1632 as a
final resting place for his beloved wife, "the Pride of the Palace". Many of
Europe's great Cathedrals include crypts for generations of Royal Families.
In many United States cemeteries, private individual and family mausoleums
stand stately above acres of ground burial sites. Usually built by families of
wealth and prominence, these mausoleums will remain forever a definitive
tribute to the loved ones entombed. In Arlington National Cemetery the "Tomb of
the Unknown Soldier" was dedicated to honor all soldiers who gave their lives
for the freedom of our Nation.

As you enter this beautiful building you will experience the peace and serenity
of a Cathedral. A magnificent stained glass window, The Lord's Supper, and the
warm glow of golden oak paneling welcomes visitors to the Court of Honor
Chapel.
The corridors adjoining the Chapel offer a selection of individual and companion
crypts for full casket entombments. Private family rooms and sarcophagi have
also been provided as well as niches for cremated remains.

This Mausoleum was built in 1950. The building is air conditioned, heated and
allows visitors to get out of our Cleveland weather.
The building is maintained at a comfortable temperature year round and a
sophisticated ventilation system also circulates fresh air through the crypts
at all times.
To assure natural dehydration and preservation, non-sealer caskets are
recommended for entombment. If a sealer casket is purchased, it will not be
sealed for placement in the Westwood Abbey.

There is a beautiful chapel area for services. When providing for cremation
alternatives both glass and marble front niches are available.
Niches inside the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum and outdoors at Pinewood Garden
Mausoleum are also available, each featuring their own unique style of
memorials.

Entombment in the Westwood Abbey guarantees a clean, dry final
resting place. The surrounding classic elegance of imported marbles, stained
glass windows, brass chandeliers, upholstered furnishings and custom carpets
enhance this very special sanctuary.
Family members can always place fresh flowers and visit their loved
ones in comfort rather than in the outdoor elements imposed by Mother Nature.
The building is also wheelchair accessible.
